Billing guide

Start billing your shop from your phone, today.

You do not need a billing machine or a computer to give proper bills. This guide walks through setting up a phone POS for a kirana or local shop, from the first product to the first printed receipt.

The short version: register at retailer.ordereasy.win/signup, add your top-selling products, open the POS on your phone and make your first bill. Cash, UPI, khata (credit) and split payments all work on one bill.

What a billing app should do for a small shop

A counter bill is not only a total. It is the moment stock goes down, money comes in, and sometimes a customer’s khata goes up. When these live in three places (a calculator, a stock register and a khata notebook), the numbers drift apart by the end of the month.

OrderEasy’s POS keeps them together. Every sale updates stock, records how the customer paid, and puts credit on that customer’s khata if they did not pay in full. It is built for one shop with one counter, not for a chain.

Step 1: Register your shop

Open retailer.ordereasy.win/signup on your phone. The form asks for a username, email, your 10-digit mobile number and a password. Then add your shop details: name, address, timings, and how you take payment. The signup tutorial shows each screen.

Step 2: Add the products you sell most

You do not need your full catalogue on day one. Start with the 30 or 50 items that go out every day, and add the rest as they come up at the counter.

  • Name, price, stock and category for each product, with a photo if you want it to look good in the customer app.
  • Scan to add. Scan the barcode on the pack and fill in the price. You can add several products one after another with the scanner.
  • Pack sizes. If you sell atta loose from a 50 kg bag and also in 5 kg packs, both can draw from the same stock.

Step 3: Make your first bill

  1. Open the POS. On a phone you get big add and quantity buttons and stock shown next to the price.
  2. Add items. Type a few letters, or tap the camera button and scan. A code held in front of the camera is counted once, not five times.
  3. Check offers and discount. Your active offers are applied to the cart automatically. You can add a manual discount on the bill.
  4. Pick the payment mode. Cash, UPI, credit (khata) or split. Add the customer’s mobile number if the sale should go on their record or khata.
  5. Complete the bill. The total and the button sit in a sticky bar under your thumb. Print the receipt or move to the next customer.

The POS se billing video does this in about two minutes.

Step 4: Show a UPI QR for the exact amount

A printed UPI sticker makes the customer type the amount, and mistakes happen. Save your UPI ID once in your profile and turn on the UPI QR option. The POS then shows a QR code for the bill total, or for the UPI part of a split bill, and it can print on the receipt. See UPI QR se payment.

Busy-counter habits that help

  • Keep several bills open. Park one customer’s bill while they fetch one more item, and serve the next person.
  • Quick-add unknown barcodes. If a scanned code is not in your catalogue, the POS offers to add it on the spot.
  • Returns from the POS. Returns and exchange are handled at the counter, not in a separate notebook.
  • Move to a computer when you sit down. The same login works on a laptop with a full-width layout, keyboard shortcuts, a USB scanner and a thermal printer.
